Regaind acquired by Apple - Trending Home

According to multiple sources American company Apple acquired a French Computer vision startup focused on facial and vision analysis. It's always very interesting to know about interests of Apple and as always Apple is very quiet about their acquisitions.


Regaind has been working on a computer vision API to analyze content of photos. Couple of years ago Apple added intelligent search to photos application. As you can search for 'bus' or 'River' to get photos of bus or River.

Your device perform computing to figure out what's inside your photos when you plug your iPhone to charger ait nd you're not using it.

But Regaind is somewhat different it tells you technical and aesthetic values of your photos. For instance if you shoot a bunch of photos, Regaind automatically find the best shot and use it as a main shot in your photo library. It could also hide duplicate photos. Also Regaind analyzes your face to determine your age, gender and emotion.

It's also unclear that Apple will work on Regaind's technology or not because Apple is very conscious about its privacy. So it's going to be very interesting to learn more.

Smooth, hybrid AC buses soon on roads of Mumbai

Manoj Sonik the transport secretary of Mumbai Metropolitan region Transport authority (MMRTA)  gave its nod to introduction of 25 hybrid electric buses on Wednesday. Facilities- These are 32 seater, duel fuel, low-floor, fully air conditioned buses equipped with mobile charging points, digital displays, passenger announcement system, bucket seats, Wi-Fi and automatic fare collection systems. Ticket Prices-  The price of ticket will Range from Rupees 15 to rupees 25. Advantages- Along with reducing vehicular congestion it will also ease the commute for lakhs of officers working at Mumbai's one of the largest business districts.  Bus was manufactured by Tata Motors and each bus costs Rs1.61 crore.
